Genoa and Savona are located in the Middle of Italian Riviera, verynear to Portofino and SanRemo.
The most famous beaches and tourist sites of Italian Riviera are locatedfew miles away from Genoa Downtown both in east and west direction
Genoa is about 140 km (80 miles) south of Milan, 
200 km east of Nice (F),
550 km (350 miles) west of Venice, 
240 km (150 miles) west of Florence, 
500 km (310 miles) nord of Rome 
and 760 km (450 miles) north of Naples.

Savona is Located 30 km (18 miles) west of Genoa on the coast, whileBergeggi is about 4 km west of Savona still on the coast.

Genoa Airport is connectedby the major airlines to London, Paris, Zurich, Frankfurt, Munchen, Rome,Milan.
There are daily flight connections to all the major Italian towns (Venice,Naples, Sardinia and Sicily Islands etc.).
A shuttle connect major Genoa areas (i.e. railway stations) with theairport.

Genoa Airport is about 20 minutes away from DIPTEM Headquarter in Genoa(via Opera Pia 15, 16145 Genova, Direction East - HighWay A10 - Exit GenoaOvest - "Sopraelevata" Direction Center - Follow "Facolta` di IngegneriaUniversita` di Genova")

Genoa Airport is about 40 minutes away from DIPTEM Savona Site (via Molinero1, 17100 Savona, Direction West - HighWay A10 - Exit Savona- DirectionCenter - Follow "Polo Savonese Universita` di Genova")

Railways, highways and Busconnections provide a very good support to reach all the other major sitesand airports of the area in few hours (i.e. 2h by train to milan, 4:30hto Rome and 3h to Nice). 

Trains require about 45 min to connect Genoa and Savona; from Railstationthere are buses and taxi for reaching the DIPTEM Sites.

Fast Ferries (40 knots/ 70km/h speed) connect Genoa to the wonder fulMediterranean Islands (Corsica, Sardinia) in few hours and to major town(i.e. Barcelona, Palermo).

Direction to DIPTEM University of Genoa - Headquarters
Plane: It is possible to use Volabus Shuttle from Genoa International Airport "Cristoforo Colombo" in order to reach Piazza della Vittoria and then to use Bus (n.42) to Albaro or to use taxi (~15 Euro).
Train:
Stop on Genova Brigonle railstation and use bus (n.42 stopping in Albaroabout 500 m from the DIPTEM) or taxi (~2.5 km) 
Car: A10 Genova-XXmiglia Highway: exit on Genova Ovest the Campus is locatedabout 5 km away from the exit.
  • Direction to "Fiera" "Sopraelevata" and use the overground speedway.
  • Continue on Sopraelevata until the end.
  • At the final traffic proceed on the way and make an U turn (180 degree)as soon as possible in order to stay on the major way turning left (North)on corso Brigate Bisagno/corso Brigate Partigiane (same street changingname).
  • Proceed North until the intersection with the block of Brignole Railstation(on your left) and skyscraper (StarHotel on your right); turn right onCorso Buenos Aires.
  • Proceed East on Corso Buenos Aires until the Piazza Belgrano and then continueon the major street (deviating at right  and then on the left turnon via Albaro)
  • Proceed on via Albaro and then turn left in via Francesco Causa after thetrafficlight. 
  • Stay on via Francesco Causa and proceed on this street, at his end justcontinue on the no-exit street Via Opera Pia turning left.
  • Arriving at DIPTEM you will see the entrance Gate, please ask to open theGate (park available inside)

Direction to Savona Campus of  Genoa University 
Plane:
It is possible to use Volabus Shuttle for reaching the Genoa International Airport "Cristoforo Colombo" in order to reach P.PrincipeGenova Railway Station
and then proceed by train to Savona or to use taxi (~80 Euro).
Train: Stop on Savona railstation and use bus (n.4 stopping in front of theCampus) or taxi (~2.5 km) 
Car: A10 Genova-XXmiglia Highway: exit on SAVONA the Campus is located about2.4 km away from the exit.
  • Keep left on the ramp lanes and proceed to Savona Center for about 200m passing the intersection.
  • Continue on Corso Svizzera (~900 m); turn in Piazzale Amburgo (~200 m)and then at the right in Via Stalingrado (~100m).
  • Turn left in via Michelangelo Buonarroti (70m) then turn right in via GiacomoBove (100 m) and finally turn left Luigi Cadorna (300 m). 
  • From the Campus Entrance turn right and follow the lane for about 200 m(parking available on site).

Directions to Congress Center, Plantation House
Plane: Daily connections (1 hr) on Mustique Airways from Barbados BGI Airport to Bequia and flights on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays from Forte de France FDF Airport to Bequia (45 min.). The two airport are directly connected daily with major North American Airport (US and Canada: i.e. Miami, Toronto, Montreal) and Europe (i.e. London, Paris). Alternatively, you may fly to St. Vincent from BGI Barbados or FDF Martinique and take a ferry (1 hr crossing) or the Air Shuttle (5 min. flight) to Bequia. It is available a special taxi service/rate for Plantation House Guest.
Ferry: Ferries Services (including car transportation) are available for connection to St. Vincent (daily about one each hour) and Canouan at an average rate of about 10 USD.
Car: Plantation House is well known in the whole island and taxi services are easily accessible. Bequia can boast of well kept paved roads. Many site are accessible by bus or taxi. Taxi drivers are reputedly helpful and courteous and may be hired as competent guides. Driving is on the left. International driving licenses are accepted.
