  • This year we organized the second edition of SCSC2004 Student Workshop; this initiative was very successful, as last year, with two full sessions of paper presentations selected through a process including reviews from three International Program Committee (IPC) member. All the accepted papers were included in SCSC2004 CD-Proceedings, but are keep separate from SCSC2004 hardcopy proceedings even if the review selection was using the same high standards than regular papers.
    The SCSC2004 Student Workshop enabled students to attend the workshop and get a SCSC2004 CD copy including the whole Conference Proceedings as well as the possibility to compete for the "Best SCSC2004 Student Paper Award" (including a cheque of 1'000 USD for the winner provided by The AEgis Technologies and ACIMS) with the very special registration fee (55USD).

 Reuben Mwamakimbullah (Best Paper Award), Lewis Ntaimo (1st runner Paper Award), Dave Cook (Aegis Representative and Academic Liason), Bernie Ziegler (SCS International President and ACIMS Co-Director), Agostino Bruzzone (MISS International Director and SCSC2004 General Chair)
    The "Best SCSC2004 Student Paper" was selected through a multi layer process where the high quality of the submissions and presentation proposed quite a challenge in order to make a selection. The selection process included: Dave Cook, AEgis Technologies Group, Inc. Academic Liason, as Sponsor of SCSC2004 Student Workshop, enjoing the Liophant Award for the Support to Simulation Community in front of two Liophanters: Edward Williams (SCSC2004 Program Chair) and Simone Simeoni (Simulation Science Track Chair) Agostino Bruzzone as President of Liophant awarding Bernie Ziegler, Co-Director of ACIMS for sponsoring the Winning Award of SCSC2004 Student Workshop Edward Williams, Program Chair of SCSC2004, operated as Ceremony Master during the SummerSim04 Exhibition Reception and awarded the Recognition Certificates and prizes pro vided by SCS International to the best Student Papers. Dave Cook, Academic Liason and Representative of AEgis Simulation Technologies and Bernie Ziegler, Co-Director of ACIMS, provided their combined sponsorization as 1'000USD Cheque Award to the Best Student Paper Author.
    Agostino G. Bruzzone, as President of Liophant Simulation Club awarded AEgis Simulation Technologies and ACIMS for their support to young people to become part of simulation community as a key issue for promoting Modelling & Simulation.
