Abstract
The authors propose the simulation as a training support
tool for container terminal crane operators. The
proposed model is based on an HLA-compliant
architecture involving cooperative training to test vehicle
driving activities as well as operations and policies.
In fact, the authors present an innovative approach in
which a synthetic environment is created based on a
Virtual Reality graphic package integrated with a
federation designed to model dynamics and to control
federate interactions. The overall purpose is to support
industrial training for container terminal crane
operators.
